Alexandra Motz is the Executive Pastry Chef & Pastry Director across Soigné Hospitality, directing all dessert and pastry development at Spoon and Stable, Demi, and Bellecour. Alex originally joined Spoon and Stable as part of the restaurant’s opening team in 2014 under the direction of pastry chef Diane Moua.
She is the proud recipient of the 2022 Ment’or Grant, which sent her overseas to study in Bali at Room 4 Dessert under celebrated pastry chef Will Goldfarb. She was named a Runner Up in the StarChefs 2024 Recipes Awards and is one of 16 recipients of the 2022 “The Art of Plating Rising Star Award,” presented by Valrhona and Revol.
As a manager, Alex understands the importance of flexibility in her coaching style, which helps her better mentor and collaborate with her team.
“I became a pastry chef because of the artistry, and I’m finding my creativity through colors and collaboration with the chefs on the savory side,” says Alex. “As my responsibilities have grown, I’ve also appreciated the importance of not just cooking, but also how to create a team through mentorship. That type of team building leads to the best ideas.”
